Music Therapy and Counselling

For the past 17 years, our Music and Music Therapy Programs have become core elements of the services we offer. We have found that Music Therapy helps individuals to listen, hold attention, build self-confidence, express themselves, and work in a group, as well as develop key skills like communication. We notice a transfer of results from Music Therapy to our other programs and Members’ day-to-day lives. For Members with a dual diagnosis of developmental disability and Alzheimer’s (of which we have several), Music Therapy helps “bring them back” for periods of time and eases anxiety and distress.

  • Family Support Groups: provides on-going opportunities to share ideas and seek solutions regarding their disabled family Member's issues and quest for independence and employment

  • Grief - Loss Groups: Groups that help Members deal with change and loss as needed
