Hello,
Thank you for contacting us! We’d love to tell you a bit more about who we are and how we support adults with developmental disabilities.
L.A. GOAL is a nonprofit day program based in Culver City. We support adults with developmental disabilities by offering a wide range of programs designed to build independence, creativity, and community connection.
Our weekday programs run Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to around 1:30 or 2:00 PM. Members must attend for a full day. On Saturdays, we also offer classes where Members can choose to attend a morning session, afternoon session, or full day, typically starting at 9:00 or 10:00 AM, depending on the program.
We do havea monthly dues fee of $40 for attending one day a week or $50 for attending more than one day a week. We also offer a sliding scale for families experiencing financial hardship.
At this time, we currently have a long waiting list and are actively working to move through it. There isn’t an exact timeframe for when space will open, and it may take up to a year before we are able to offer placement.
In the meantime, please take a look at our Programs Page to learn more about what we offer: https://www.lagoal.org/programs. If it seems like a good fit, we’d be happy to add your name to our waiting list.
We’d also love to learn a bit more about you! If you didn’t include it in your initial message, please reply with:
Name and age
Interests or hobbies you enjoy
Diagnosis or specific support needs
Whether 1-on-1 support would be needed
Which programs/days you’re most interested in.
Here’s what the admissions process looks like:
Once we receive your admission interest email, we’ll discuss more about the programs and whether we’re a good fit.
If it seems like a match, we’ll ask you to send us a few reports by mail (not email unless sent through a secure server). We must receive:
A completed Member application
The most recent medical, psychosocial, and psychological reports
An updated I.P.P., including the CDER report (which you can request from your Regional Center Counselor)
We do not accept reports by email or fax, they must be mailed or dropped off along with the application form.
After reviewing your materials, if it still seems like a good fit, we’ll invite you and your family to visit L.A. GOAL. You’ll have the chance to meet staff and Members, see the programs in action, and get a feel for our community before moving forward with final admission steps.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We’d be happy to help!
Warmly,
The L.A. GOAL Team
