L.A. GOAL Virtual Community Art Class #1 🎨:
Collage Workshop
Tuesday, February 23rd, 6-7:30pm PST
Who: You and a friend! Join us for the first L.A. GOAL virtual community art class. Aritsts of all levels and/or abilities welcome. This class is intended to be enjoyable, fun, and inspirational. We host community art classes as a way to create and cultivate L.A. GOAL community, to bring more people into our (virtual) studio and creative family, and increase community awareness of L.A. GOAL.
L.A. GOAL Members please note: this virtual class is not a part of regular L.A. GOAL programming, it is extracurricular programming. You are welcome to purchase a ticket to attend the event, but it is not free to attend and is not a part of the recreational or art employment program. Thank you!
What: Join artist Dani Samson as she leads a collaging workshop. Participants will design their own collage material from home and use it to make a mixed media image. Dani will walk participants through creating floral shapes for an image of a bouquet, but ultimately, the subject of the collage is up to each participant. Each event ticket is $35. All proceeds directly offset operating costs of our professional art studio, Inside Out Productions, including the salaries of our 24 employed artists with developmental disabilities.
Where: The comfort of your own home (Zoom). You'll receive a Zoom invite delivered straight to your inbox within 24 hours before the event.
When: Tuesday, February 23rd from 6:00-7:30 PM PST. Please be punctual! Once Dani begins class, she will not be repeating instructions for late-comers.
Why: To spend time nurturing our creativity and L.A. GOAL community. Since we can't connect in our physical studio at this time, we'd love to see you online! Let's have some fun and get inspired. Registration for this event closes on Monday, February 22nd at 6pm PST.

About your teacher: Dani Michaux Samson
Dani Michaux Samson is a scrappy mixed media collage artist. She loves to collect residual material from her art and her day-to-day so that she may give it new life in her collages. Her creative practice stems from thoughts about her living space, the sanctuary that she calls home. Naturally, her cat is one of her muses and her number one studio assistant. Born and raised in Ohio, Dani received her MFA degree from Columbus College of Art & Design just before moving to Los Angeles in 2019. In L.A., she established her business, Calico Flower Studio, where her independent artwork can be viewed and purchased online. In the past, she has facilitated art activities with organizations such as Goodwill Columbus Art Studio & Gallery, Kya's Krusade, Paint Nite, and Columbus Museum of Art. Her range of experience has allowed her to work with people of various ages and abilities. Currently, Dani brings art into the lives of LAUSD middle schoolers in the Team Prime Time After School Program. Throughout her career, she has maintained the belief that everyone has creative potential. Dani is so excited to meet the L.A. GOAL community!
